It’s a special place.

Devon is the home of some of the most ruggedly beautiful countryside in Britain.

Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and Exmoor are romantic places which resonate with legends, stories and a long and fascinating history.

Parts of the world famous Jurassic Coast lie in Devon too – a world heritage site of great beauty and geological significance.

And in the north of the county, the Braunton Burrows Biosphere Reserve has a special place in the world of ecology.

Devon’s towns are pretty special places too.

Plymouth is the largest town in Devon and has a proud history as a port.

Exeter has a history dating back to the times of the Romans. Today Exeter is the capital of Devon.

The area around Torbay has a deserved reputation as a good place to spend a holiday.

And the Devon coast has plenty of attractive seaside towns like Exmouth, Sidmouth, Lynmouth and Ilfracombe.
